TO 35 oil pump

The plunger was stuck in the oil pump. I screwed a 3/8 pipe tap into it and heated the housing with a torch. I clamped a vice grip onto the tap and worked it back and forth, then I tapped the vice grip with a hammer and the plunger came out. After rebuilding the pump I put the cover plate on and it was difficult to turn. I found that I put the cover on wrong. It can be 180 degrees out causing binding.
