TO-35 PTO problem

KD NC

New User
Changed fluid in tractor. Took off side PTO lever/cover. Found a metal rod lying in the bottom of housing. Rod does not appear to be from the PTO nomenclature show in shop manual nor does it appear to be from hydraulic pump. Put PTO lever/cover back on. PTO now only will run in ground speed position. Questions: 1.Anyone know what the rod is and where it may belong. 2.How can I get the live PTO back to working?

The rod looks like the draft control rod from the lift cover.

On the pto did you get the lever back in the slot on the shift collar?

I`m perty sure MPM1 nailed your pto prob. Theres a groove or slot like he said, on the collar that the back of the lever has to be in. It happened to me once before also. Before you refit the lever cover(LHS) & fill your oil back up, start her up & make sure the pto is working right(shifting).
