TO-35 stuck in reverse

So, I managed to get my Ferguson TO-35 stuck in reverse. Best I can tell I was pulling up on the gear shift lever while trying to shift into high range 1 and it jumped the rail down in the transmission case. I knew exactly what happened because my TO-20 has a sloppy lever pin that slides out of the hole. However, this lever pin is very tight and as far as I can tell zero slop in the lever too. I tapped the pin out, lifted the shift lever, got it in the correct slot and all good. What worries me is if there is wear I am unaware of and another operator doing it out in the field. Thoughts on the situation getting worse? Thanks

This is a very common problem suffered by the UK built TE20's as well . I've done it a few times .
It happens , even with unworn gear shifters , so don't beat yourself up too much .
If it happens again it's fairly easy to rectify . Level surface , rock tractor back and forth gently while trying to shift . Otherwise , same surface, remove oil filler , protect threads ( it's soft alloy ) . Use a big screwdriver to lever the big gear you can see back and forth while trying to shift .
Always push down on the stick in future .
