Yesterday, got a call. Dad (80 years young) fell down and taken to hospital. 4 or 5 broken ribs, Sent from local small town hospital to SF hospital. Broken ribs and collapsed lung. Passed out due to low blood pressure. He moved into assisted living about a year ago, cause mom fell, and doctor wouldn't release her to go home (has Alzheimer's and diabetes, which has gotten fairly bad). Assisted living cannot break skin to give shots of insulin). Mom gets confused and antsy if she is away to long. Wife wants to bring her here, which is fine, if she could be here 24 hours a day. Wife does in home assisted living. Will ell the wife to make the 40 mile trip as often as possible to keep her company and comfortable in the assisted living center. This Sunday, we were going to celebrate their 60th anniversary. It would have been the most years married for anybody on my dad's side. He also set a record by living past 80 years. Hope we can celebrate a week or so later. And I myself at the age of 50, just celebrated my first wedding anniversary.
