I just came across this picture from e-bay that shows how the TO-20 switch fits into the mechnisim that connects to the shift.

Makes it much clear now.

Thanks for you help the other day gents.

Thanks for posting that pic. i recently picked up a TO-20 with a starter switch that doesn't work, and I was curious as to what it looked like (without pulling it out).

The picture in the previous post is actually two parts. A) the switch (shown in this post) and B) the holding assembly with the rocker arm that press the switch button.

I tried to send a load of pictures and descriptions the other day, to your email address about all this, but it kept coming back here...John

Hey, I would like to find out what the thread size is on the studs that are on the starter switch? They seem to be an odd metric size, I have not been able to replace the ones on my te-20. Thanks, Tom

Hi Tom,
Do you mean the threads on the switch terminals? they won't be metric as it was too early for that, we didn't use them at that time, they are most likely BSW or UNC. If you mean the setscrews that secure the Starter Switch to the Transmission Housing then they are 5/16"unc x 7/16"long....John

Hey, thanks for getting back to me on this. I am talking about the two studs that the wires are atached to on the starter switch. The nuts on mine are very old and want to replace them.
