TO35 clutch help

We need your help. We had to replace our clutch due to broken finger bolts. Installed a new stamped finger dual clutch. Used the clutch alignment tool, set the finger height adjustment to 2.66 from the recessed rim of the flywheel, set the pto stop bolts to .90 put the tractor back together and when you insert a long punch to engage the clutch the release bearing makes contact with the fingers and will not push the fingers in to release the clutch. There is plenty of travel left for the throw out assembly, just dead stops when contacting the fingers. What are we missing here?

were there any installation blocks or pins holding the pressure plate in the released position if so were they removed, if not the adjustments are wrong and the pressure plate is bottoming out. if they were
removed and the height adjustment is correct the new springs used could require more force than you can apply by hand with a punch inserted thru the clutch pedal pivot rod unless it is a long one may be the
reason you can't move it.

Is this the same Tractor you had under the heading....

Clutch popping and not releasing

Seems like there was a lot of valuable input from experiencesd YTer's.

Bob..

No pins holding the clutch down. We're at 2.66 on the finger height, where do you think we should readjust them to? Thank you

When I did my dual clutch I took the
flywheel off and adjusted it on the table.
Was having problems with alignment on the
engine and the clutch disk wanted to get
pinched between the flywheel and pressure
plate. Can the disc go on backwards? Been
some years since I changed mine.

This is exactly the issue we are having. Clutch disc is installed correctly with the protruding center of disc towards the transmission. Thanks Kip78 we will give that a try.

Well we took the clutch off along with the flywheel. Attached it onto the flywheel off the tractor. Set finger height and pto bolts and tested it with a press. Worked fine on the press. Installed on tractor and when you engage the clutch it will pop and the fingers will not release unless you reach up through the inspection plate and pull back on one of the fingers. Then it pops again and will release. We have done all that we can think of with this clutch, I have a tractor mechanic coming Wednesday to see what can be done. Thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and input. My mechanic came by and looked it over. Come to find out that the belleville spring is warped. Contacted the seller and they are issuing a refund. So, we start all over again. The first clutch we got arrived broken, this one came defective.
