Now that it is getting cold out I have found when it is cold my to35 does not want to turn to the left . It will go right great but I have to drive it and keep working the stearing right and left and the left turn will slowly start working ok. It is not power stearing so I am not sure what would make it do this . When it is warm it works perfect. Any ideas ??

Water in the gear box freezing up?

Had issues with my FIL's doing the same, nearly have it reassembled with new bearings, seals, and straight 80w-90 oil in the gears. Currently cleaning the gas tank of rust before finishing assembly.

It maybe just strange it is only in one direction but I am not sure how this gear box is made . Does it have its own resivor or use tractor hydraulic oil. ? I am going to have to get a manual for this one.

The non-power steering models don't have any circulation of the oil, just splash lubrication. Below the battery, there is a pipe plug (likely with a slot cut through it for a screwdriver) where oil is added. Ours does not have a drain plug so required removal and disassembly for R&R.
