I am needing somme new tires for my to35 . They have 12.4 x 28 x 11 now. I am not concerned about keeping the original . Is there a cheaper set of tire that will fit on this tractor? It is not used a hole lot any more so don't want to dump a Tom of money in tires.

i would say thats up to you to shop around. that leaves firestone or titan out of the equation so your stuck with the Chinese tires which are definitely bottom of the barrel.

Where have you searched and what is the lowest price you have so far? No sense in telling you to check eBay if you have looked there and even the off brands are more than you want to spend.

Are you looking for just tires or are you expecting to find tires mounted on rims?

12.4x 28 is one of the more popular sizes, so prices are about as good as it gets. The 11 is referring to the rim width. The tires were call 11 x 28 before they were called 12.4 x 28 on 11" wide rims.

You least expensive finds will be Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace and watch for used tires. You can also check with tire shops that do ag tires that might be a size they have around if someone replaced fronts on a FWD tractor.

If you post your general location someone might know of a place to check out near you.

Look at junkyards for some off from combines. some of the RWA machines have tires in that size or close enough you could put them on or get the rim with them. Also watch auction sales sometimes you see some used from MFWD that size. Otherwise you will need to break out the piggy bank and dig a bit deeper than you want to.

Old combines USED to be a good source of cheap tires for these tractors. Farmers ran combines that used that size tires 50+ years ago. They'd junk the combine, keep the tires, and they'd lay there until the farm sold out. Nobody wanted them. You could pick up a set at an auction for $10 or $20. That was 40 years ago. Now any tires still laying around like that are 40 years older, and just as rotten as the ones on your tractor, if not worse.

These days there is no such thing as "good used." Tires are expensive. Virtually nobody takes a perfectly good tire off of a tractor, and if they do, the next guy snaps it up the moment it is advertised.

Simple Tire is a good place online to get an idea of prices and what's available. Right now they show a 12.4x28 as low as $342 apiece. If you think that's a lot then you should price out a set of 20.8x42's.

Thank you all . I have not did a lot of searching yet and actually my head never went the used route but would be a good option for this tractor if I could find some. I was just having a hard time with putting a 1000 - 1500 in rear rubber on this tractor but it does run good and in good shape for a 70 year old tractor.maybe I should just bite the bullet.

12.4X28 size tires are a rather inexpensive size. Don't believe you will find anything to fit your tractor that costs less other than 11.2X28s.

The cheapest ag tire I sold at the shop was Samson.
12.4-28 10 ply were under $300 each.

Thing to pay attention to when ordering larger AG tires off of the web is shipping can be expensive. So it's best to do your research and visit a local tire shop and check prices with them.

Samson is pretty cheap, not many bars on the tire so less traction. They sold me a pair for duals for my 145hp tractor. They do the job but are not impressive at all.

Carlisle has been a nicer economy tire on my little utility tractor. Actually wearing better than the Firestones I had on it. Yea. I’m shocked too.

Just have to look around.

Tires are the best bang for the buck in adding value to the tractor. They increase the value of the tractor by the almost the entire value of the tires.

Tractor tire sizes were changed about 3x years ago. The same numbers have different actual measurements. Do you homework.
I got caught in that and wound up with rears that appeared way under-sized.
