I have the opportunity to aquire an IH 664 it was in a fire seat, batt, back tires, some other items sustained fire damage.Should I take it for free or just run away and enjoy this nice wintery day.Audios!!

If it is just a "cosmetic" fire, I would not be too concerned, but if it were hot enough to really burn the paint, that may not be a good thing to "aquire". It could have done some structural damage to the metal. You would have to replace every seal and gasket and o-ring in the rear end if it were a real hot fire.

For free, even parting it out is profit.
But if the tractor can be seen to not be leaking fluids, and the main castings are still painted (even if stained), I would say rebuild it. It is a nice tractor to have, and might influence you in the long wave spectrum end of tractors. That last part is because of your handle:-) JimN

I have benn told to never look a gift horse under the tail. You can not recover any freebee that you pass over. Got a roll back and get home.
