Today funny post

I see after 6 months and 31 pages the administration has locked the today funny post. Jon did a daily today funny post for a long time.
What is up with that???
Are we no longer allowed to do a today funny.
This site sure has changed over the past couple of years and often not for the better.

It appears several of the posts I saw this morning are missing. I thought at the time they were getting a bit "over the edge", I expect that is what happened.

My approach is i post a sign and ear Worm each day down in the Community Section. I date each one so they don't become an endless string. Just one way to do it.

I'm betting that the admin finally got tired of policing it all the time. There had been several things posted that were racist, disturbing, despicable and in no way funny or proper for this group. And the " start another one" comment???? Are we in 3rd grade?? Sheesh .

I guess I haven’t been keeping up with the subject or the post that got deleted, so what I’m going to say is just “in general” and isn’t directed to any single post or any one person in general. But here goes:
If there is no policing on any sites, it just gets worse and worse and pretty soon you have total anarchy. Everyone has to push the envelope further and further until all posts are in complete disarray. Thoughts that normally wouldn’t be said in public gets multiplied exponentially when someone is behind their phone or computer screen.
To that, if this site has changed and not for the better, there are other sites a person can visit instead. OR…start your own site, charge no money to participate (like this one), have absolutely no rules, be the site administrator/IT, and see how fun that job soon gets.
Again, my post is not directed to any single person, just something to think about.

Looks like it’s still there to me. Maybe some of the over the line funnies are gone but I still see it.

I'm with you. I was on New Ag Talk, but the things that got posted there started getting way over the top. Guys were posting bigoted, totally unnecessary things on the Livestock forum of all places. Not replies to posts, but actually starting posts that didn't have any business being posted on anything but the dark web.

Nothing wrong with starting another one. Maybe people can do better about policing content they add.

Personal opinion, that thread and ones like it belong in Tractor Tales or Community Features.

I think that to many of them started reaching the R ratings and didn't belong on this forum . I liked when every day a new funny was posted instead of one post getting to 35 pages but that was back in the day when they fell off the spreader after about 10 pages. Kinda like the corner guy and his spoon shop or ttt post every day. My computer sometimes starts on page 1 and when there are 35 I can not page to page 35 or at least haven't figured out how. I just skip them when that happens. no biggy.

Personally, I enjoy the funnies. What I DON'T enjoy is the endless string of comments, opinions (if you can call them that), anecdotes, and other unrelated stuff that often may or may not apply that all too often follows along.

Jon did a daily today funny post for a long time.

His were just one funny item each day. People commented on that one item, and that was that. The next day he did a new one.

On this one, people kept adding new items to the same thread till there are now over 600 posts on it. It got totally out of hand. It's good that it got locked down.
