Only 54 and been writing note for 10 - 15 years. Put note in pocket with money since usually about something need at store any ways :(

Yesterday I forgot to press the "Optional Stop" button on my CNC Lathe. A tool that I had reset did not "Crash", but it did not cut deep enough and the insert on the finisher broke when it tried to hog too much material. The part came out of the jaws and rattled around for while before I could shut it down. Memory, either it works or ..it happens.

That op stop can really hurt sometimes. I put it on when I forgot to switch programs but was in the middle of drilling holes that were the same in both sets of parts. Forgot why and took it off again when I hit the button again. Didn't scrap the parts, just had to ruin the other program 2x to make 2 complete sets again...

Most of the time I'm only making 1 or 2 parts so the op stop hardly comes off on my machine

I've been carrying a small spiral note pad in my shirt pocket for about 10 years now. I write everything down on it. I put the date on the front cover and one last about 2 months. I keep the old ones in a drawer and refer back to them allot. When you got CRS as bad as I do its the only way you can make it.

Was using a small pocket sized spiral.Grandaughter tells me just use the memo on your cell. Tried it once, took me probably 10 or so minutes to peck it in my phone. Went to town and couldn't remember how to pull it up on my phone. LOL

Thanks DL THANKS!!!LOL
SWMBO is in early 60s and she might forget what she was POed about yesterday but since she remembers being upset yesterday she needs to be upset today too ~roll~

Funny you should mention that. I had to go to town to get a part, and planned to stop for a burger as well. Asked Mr.(WA) if she needed anything for the dish she was making to take to my sis's 70th birthday party this afternoon- she said she needed orange juice, but didn't write it down. So we'll see if the Hawaiian Chicken is edible without 1/2 cup of orange juice. I'm betting it is.

They say in humor timing is everything. Well, today's funny was very timely. This evening I was out in my pasture cutting down some trees on my pond dam. The sun had gone below the horizon when I drove my tractor thru the gate into my yard. Normally I always get off the tractor and close the gate immediately after going thru the gate. Tonight I drove the tractor the 150 feet into the shed I keep it in without shutting the gate...... thinking I MUST not forget to go back and shut the gate after I get the tractor put up (or the cattle could just walk out to freedom). Well, as I drove the tractor in the shed one of our cats ran right in front of me into the shed. As I lock it up every night I needed to get the cat out first. Tonight the cat played hard to get and after trying to call it out for a while I just locked the door and left her in the shed, turned and came to the house, outside chores done. Then as I was reading the day's funny it hit me, "I didn't shut that gate!" It's 11:00 PM and I'm putting my shoes on and hoping the cows have not found the open gate. Will not know until morning if they're in the pasture now...... but really think they are. So, Thanks for the timely funny. Ole memory just ain't what it used to be!
