today's funny

Yeah, these days hardly anyone feels secure about their retirement funds. My great uncle died in 1968. He had $26,000 left when he passed. His wife lived into the 1980's and there was still a few thousand left when she passed. Times have changed!

That "what I am going to do when I retire" was just a dream for me. I have been busier now than when I was employed. Everyone knows I retired so I should have time for all their projects that can't wait.

I will be too busy for my own funeral. Someone will have to come and carry me to it.

My father was dead for a week before they could catch and bury him.
For myself, I had big plans for loafing and traveling for my old man years but I found that doing nothing is hard work so I started to operate my farm and the next thing you know I am farming and running a machinery sales business. Now I plant crops on my 300 acres and rent another hundred acres.
OK I do like what I am doing and it is not really work. I just had my checkup this morning and my Doctor said I was in excellent health. I don't think I will retire again for a while.

I was supposed to retire at the end of this month and go to Texas. It has taken so long to get this old that I have lost interest now.
