My mother's oldest sister was married to my father's older brother. About the time they had four each, the grandmothers held a meeting and informed thm that large families were no longer necessary, and that there was this thing called birth control. y mothers sister was also married to my dads brother. Makes me wonder if this was pretty common way back when.
