Keith, don't give up that easily, put a piece of 1/2" pipe on that 1/4 inch drive ratchet, she will twist. Sometimes twisted off comes in handy. I needed a axle housing off of a scrap lawn tractor. Every one of the 8 5/16 bolts twisted off. I didn't need the part that had the threads!!!! Jim wishing you a great new year.

One way to keep from breaking so many bolts is to use a wrench with a shorter handle.

Several years ago when I still lived in Ohio, I had a friend in the excavating business by the name of "Henry Edsel Ford" I was just starting out in the "Business" and would help Henry work on his old D-4 Cat. I asked him how tight to make this bolt. I never forgot his answer, He said "Bring-er down tight and giver three full turns". Fifty yrs. later I still use that answer for some of the guys that come around to help me !! Jim in N.M.
