happened to me with a house. I told a ?friend I was looking at a real deal on a house. He bought it next day. No longer a friend

A guy I know had that happen with his father. He couldn't go to a sale, asked dad to go bid and told him his limit. Dad got it cheap then demanded son pay his Max for it.
