If you look close you can see that the lawnmower is hooked to the rear differential and actually powering the car. The lawnmower's exhaust is running through a hose to the driver's rear patoot so he can blow Dixie on his trumpet at the same time.

Maybe 25 years ago we had a salesman that called on our store about once a month. He always claimed he practiced his trumpet whenever driving on the interstate between stores. Said he had done it for years. This doesn't look too much like him though.

We have a very good mechanic in our area that is a trumpet player. He will be at your farm working on something, gets a little stumped or takes a break and pulls out his trumpet and plays. He's a great friend. My Dad used to have harness horses, one day he was driving by the shop and Steve was there. I saw Dad coming asked him to play Camp Town Races, Dad just about drove off the road. Great memory.

I didn't get the 612 thing until you mentioned Minneapolis, Jon. Does look like some of the things I used to see going down 35W back in my college days. You see more of that as you get closer to Seattle or Portland out here. steve

A musician friend of mine has a little trumpet like that. I asked him if he washed it in too hot of water that caused it to shrink like that? He got a kick out of that.

orry to disagree with you, but the D trumpet from the song Penny Lane would look a lot different from that. I did a little internet research and believe that is a Shepard's crook cornet.
