Today's Massey's

(quoted from post at 18:58:10 04/06/21) Very familiar with 70's-80's vintage MF but what about their quality today?--especially mid range hp 4wd?

With the HP's out there today, mid-range can mean a lot of things! For me, back in the day, our big tractor was an 1105and these days, that is a small tractor to a lot of folks. I have bought two new Massey's in the last year, a small one, the GC1725MB and it is a great little machine. The second is what I think of as "mid-range" which is a 55hp 2605H 4WD. I really like that machine, it is built like the late 100/200 series, heavy castings, familiar operation, etc. It does have modern updates in terms of control position and a shuttle shift transmission. Is it the best? I couldn't tell you, I haven't owned the other brands, but I have been around Massey's for many years and am a fan of the line overall. I believe that both will serve me for many years.

I don't know if that helps, no advice intended, but I am very happy with the ones I've purchased.

Have the 2606H 4wd (65 hp engine/55 hp PTO) and I can't say anything negative about it. Have had it for a couple of years now. It does the jobs it was purchased for and hasn't presented any problems.

I've heard of issues with the smaller ones in the 30 HP range around here. No personal experience, I'm sticking to the old models like 35, 65, and 135. Pretty much bullet proof and easy to work on if need be. IMO
