too much resistance?

if you add more resistors than needed will that cause a coil too break up under a load and if you dont have enuff resistance can that cause the same thing or would that just fry the coil?

oo much resistance=too little coil current=weak spark, usually detected by hard starting, inability to reach higher rpm, & missing under load.....some or all the symptoms. Too little resistance=too high current=strong spark until heat damages coil, points, then spark problems.
