Too Shakey

I tried to paint the yellow letters on red center grill strip I just painted red. LOOKS LIKE CRAP! Now I have to sand it down, and start all over again. How do you guy's paint those letters so perfect? What's the secret? I guess I'm too old and shakey.

2" wide sponge brush with just a dab of paint.
