Took my 8N engine over to Norm Sappenfield to be hot tanked

Norm is the Ford flathead specialist who built this '53 Mercury V8 for forum member Britcheflee:

He's going to hot tank my engine, mike and indicate everything, and then give me his recommendations.

I am pretty sure that I won't be able to afford to have Norm rebuild it, however. I'm probably going to have to do that at home.

Cleaning tank with a hot cleaning/degreasing solution parts are submerged in. Many are built to agitate as well.

Ok, what threw me was the fact that no one mentioned that this process was done on the already disassembled engine block. The OP said he took the engine there for hot tanking.

Well Bill, provided the engine got torn down completely before hot tanking it sounds like you are going about it the right way.
