Tool for pulling to release mower deck pins?

Has anyone found or made a tool to pull those JD mower deck spring loaded out to release the deck from the lift arms?

If you are talking about these type of spring loaded retaining clips.

A T handle spring puller works good for removing them.. If you have a torch. Heating an old Phillips head screw driver hot enough to bend a hook in end of it works good also.

Thanks guys. These 90 year old arms and fingers sure take a lot of "figuring" how to get the job done!

Depends on the style of the pins, jd used different ones on different decks. A length of 1/4 inch steel rod (all thread will work) bend a hook in one end and a handle into the other, three feet is about right for most of them. Sometimes the farther away from your work the easier it is 😉

I usually use a medium size Channellock pliers on them. If the pin is particularly stubborn, grip the pin near the outer end of the jaws and use the upper jaw as a lever. Sometimes the lift link wears a notch into the pin, making them really difficult.
