Tool identification

Ok guys you knew my last tool can you please help me out again my friends dad has this laying around his house no idea what it is it seems to have grips that fit in your hand perfectly. Appreciate the help.

It's a "dibble", a tool to make holes in the ground for planting seeds or young plants, apparently.

At best, there is a slight rolling of the flesh of the hand or slippage of the flesh with respect to the handle, which is sufiicient in the course of a very few hours to produce blisters upon the hand of the operator. Not only are blisters produced, but the exertion necessary to maintain the operators hand in position upon the handle is very tiring to the muscle, and the pressure of the hand is poorly distributed over its: surface. The high points of the palm which contact directly with the handle transmit the whole pressure exerted by the operator and becomes painfully bruised thereby. "

That's the fanciest dibble I have ever seen. Usually just a blunted metal end on a wooden handle.

For 10 years the hort teacher and I drove to school together. He had a dibble board that was made to make about a dozen holes at one time for the students to plant seeds into.

Since the question has been answered. I still get input. I was going to put forward a constipaction relief tool. Glad I was wrong - nasty.

A friend made one for planting pine trees on reforestation property- it mounted to a wheel on a 8N and made two holes per revolution, about six feet apart (+/-)
