Toro recycler deck

I have a Toro 260 with a 38" recycler deck. It also has a grass catcher which doesn"t work as well as it might. Can I expect improvement if I remove the mulching baffles inside the deck and replace the mulching blades (14-7799 replacement for 79-3061) with the high lift blades (57-4700) from the front deck mower (same length, width etc)?

You can not really expect the Toro recycler deck to bag well, at all. If you take the mulch rings out, then you will have no baffles in it to direct the grass out. That pretty well is a dedicated mulch deck.

Bags are bad for your lawn. If you bag, you throw away nutrients. A recycler keeps your yard strong by putting the clippings where they belong, back in the earth, not over the banking.

Bags should be saved for fall leaf pick up.
If you want a bagger, buy a cheap bagger mower for fall clean up, let you recycler do its thing.
