Torque amplifier replacement/rebuild

I am looking at the possible purchase of a Farmall 400. The owner says he does not think the TA works. What would be a ball park figure for the cost to replace or rebuild the TA on a 400 Farmall? Thanks

google search IH mechanical T/A parts or repair for information. Depends what is found that needs replaced or if doing work yourself. If buying a rebuilt T/A unit, new T/A clutch, gaskets and seals and oil. Probably getting over the $ 1,000 mark. Then if release bearing, shafts coupling or a main clutch needs replaced it keeps adding. Can get by with less sometimes. Depends on condition of parts or why is slips or don't pull at all.

May not be anything wrong with it . I would get a manual and go over the set up adjustment first , make sure it bad first
