Torque Specification

We are replacing the hydraulic pump drive shaft on a Ford 555C backhoe. Although the manual clearly states that we should torque the bolts according to specifications, our manual does not tell us the specs. Does anyone know how tight to make those four bolts on the engine side of the drive shaft?
Thanks

i don't own that model of a tractor.. however.. when i get info like that. ie.. 'torque accordingly' I simply refer to a generic SAE chart.

Many times ford uses grade 5 equivalent fasteners, except for specialty stuff. Look at the head. figure the grade. look a the material it threads into, ie.. aluminum, cast iron, or steel, and the thread type. IE.. coarse or fine.

with that info.. determine sae torque value based on fastener size. ie.. 1/2" bolt gr5 going into steel = xx foot pounds.. etc.

you can google fastener torque chart to get many examples of a torque chart. in lieu of the actual # out of the book, that sae chart should keep you safe..

If all else fails, I refer to this chart. It's a lot better than nothing:

Driveshaft flange bolts. 35lbs. You should find the torque specs at the end of the hydraulic section.
