Torque specs

Hello,
Have a spin on oil filter adapter kit for Ford 3000. Anyone have torque specs for tightening the adapter plate?

Thanks!

Do like all the previous owners of my machines did - tighten till it strips then back it off 1/4 turn. :)

I'd imagine it's the same 45-50 ft/lbs as the canister filter.

Necro-post but I was wondering this myself and found this thread. This link above shows regular bolt torque specs. The adapter is held on by a hollow threaded fitting and this table is invalid for hollow fasteners. It's showing like over 200ft-lbs for the rough size of the adapter fitting, way too much for this thing. I've ran across a few others saying about 50ft-lbs and that's what seems about right to me. It just needs to not come out when you are trying to remove the filter and also put some pressure on the seal so that it doesn't leak. Anyhow I've tightened mine just now to 50, and I'll let you know how it goes. Actually, if you don't see me follow up, it was probably just fine at 50ft-lbs.
