touch control question again

too many interests

Hi,
I am in the process of reassembling the touch control unit after changing all the seals and I cannot get the check valves back in on one side. the one side slid in no problem but the other side stops about 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch out of the bores (both valves) what can i do to get them in.
