Towner offset disc harrow

Hello all, I am new to forum and building my supply of farm implements.
I m looking for information on this years Christmas gift.
A Towner offset disc harrow in excellent shape. Model PL2122 Serial number 21PL557. I ve found a site that has an assembly manual pdf. That I believe to incorporate my model.
Is there a way to read the information plate to find out year made. Or do any of you have the wealth of knowledge of these implements to help me in my search? Years the company started to close? Also with that knowledge is there anything I should be made aware of with this unit to keep an eye on while working it or parts I ll need to get a hold of for future repairs. Thank you

Towner disk's were sold as companion
implements for 8n Ford tractors. I
recently acquired some sales literature on
them. They are pulled by the lift links on
the rear 3pt hitch. When you lower the
links the disk angles for work and when
you lift the links the disk angled for
work.

Never saw one like that. If I remember correctly My disk was also a Towner but it was DRAG TYPE of 8-9 foot cut and hydrolic cylinder to adjust angle and I could never get it to follow centered behind tractor, Always wanted to operate 3 foot to right. And pulled it with a late John Deere AR of 39 Horse power. Only Towner I ever saw. Got it to work land after being bulldosed of all junk small brush. This was years after a pipeline went thru the woods and then nothin done and just grew up brush.

Welcome aboard Justin. TOWNER IMPLEMENTS were mostly supplied in the south and southwest, and NLA. Finding parts rare as hens teeth. I have the DEARBORN/TOWNER OFFSET DISC HARROW A&O Manual and if you want a copy go to the 'other' N site in the MANUALS Forum or email me. FYI: ALL Ford/Ferguson-Sherman, Dearborn, and FORD implements were built by outside suppliers under contract to FORD. FORD never built their own implements EXCEPT for the first early Ferguson-Sherman Plows built at The Rouge Plant, and then were outsourced in 1943. Most all of these suppliers are no longer in business, FTO is long gone/obsolete, and parts NLA for most.

Here is a 2-PAGE Dealer Brochure from 1940 for the TOWNER OFFSET DISC, sold thru Ferguson-Sherman for the 9N Tractor.

Implements do not hold the same interest as tractors so the information on year manufactured is not "out there" like it is with tractors. If the information is even available.

It's a disc harrow, not that many moving parts. Really all you should ever need are discs and bearings, if that. The discs are certainly one of a few generic styles. The bearings (or boxings) may not be available as exact replacements but you should be able to find ones that are close enough.
