Was plowing with moldboard plow at about 10or 11 behind the old D-4 cat. Never plowed with a wheeled tractro till I bought my 806 in 1978. Always tracks till then. With the same plow I could not plow any faster than I did with the Cat. By then though it was a 6 bottom and a D-6 Cat after about 1971or2. Worked ground before that with a Massey-Harris 44 and a 12 foot disc. Younger than that my brother or I would get to move the seed trailer with the other tractor usually the H from one field to the other would have been about 5-8 years old then.

I started driving Dad's dozers, logging, at a very young age. The summer I turned 8 I cracked a drive sprocket working in the woods by turning against a rock among all the litter on the forest floor. Was told "didn't you feel that rock?, you know better!).

I drove tractor for Dad ( CA Allis) when he was picking up round bales well before I could shove the clutch in. We had some long fields west of the railroad tracks were he would get me started and he would load round bales with a short handled pitch fork from both sides of the wagon literally running and jumping over the tounge of the wagon . When I got old enough to shove clutch in I scuffled corn with the same tractor. I think I was 10 or 11 before I got to run the Oliver and Dion forage harvester. Apparently a nieghbour gave Dad a hard time about me cutting corn one day saying it wasnt safe. Dads reply was " He is a lot safer on that tractor than on that dang Horse!"
