Hey guys, I’ve got a few tractors I’m wanting to insure. How are you guys doing it? These aren’t restored pieces but good condition working tractors. Two 4320 and a 4230. Homeowners isn’t wanting to do it

My parents' farm policy covered equipment. However, it cost more to insure the equipment than it was worth, so they did not have much covered, especially in the last few years because they were on a fixed income.

I have Auto Owners Insurance for the farm, 3 houses ,shops, car and truck, and one of my tractors.
I don't insure the older ones.
No problems with them.
My Model T is on Hagerty.

Country way and farm bureau insurance and it should be reasonable. Usually so much per $1000. Some regular insurance won't touch a tractor and if so very expensive. If you have and expensive implements put them on that policy too. I agree with Richard antique cars are another matter.

I have Farmer's and they insure by the vehicle id plate....If you are worried, worth the little bit of extra cost. There is a clause in the policy that states they only pay a max of $2k for any item that isn't specifically identified........with applicable rate increase as one would expect.

Time to look for a new insurance agent that will work for you, not just do what is easy for them. Besides, I have found that changing agents every so often gets you much better rates.

What kind of insurance do you have for your tractors?? I have insurance if I do property damage.
when mowing, I have $500 deductible I used one time when I broke a $1,500 factory window. I broke a car window last year. I just paid for it. Stan

I've got a policy through my agent for my old two cylinder JDs and added my 4630 a couple years later. Only costs about $300 a year. It's through Auto Owners and it's like a policy you would have on a boat or other property not covered by homeowners.

All my insurance is through Indiana Farmers. They sell a special insurance for tractors. Very reasonable.
