Not too bad of a job, really! The light-weight gear reduction starters make the project a lot easier. Note the very professional "boot" used to insulate the disconnected (+) battery cable!

Did your starter come with an extra solenoid on it ? The starters that we put on our trucks come with it. Newer trucks need it older do not, try to get the new mechanics to figure that out is a challenge.

Yes, it had the little solenoid to switch power directly from the "hot" terminal stud to the solenoid. The tractor has a solenoid that does the same thing, as well, only about 2 feet from the starter, and connected with HEAVY wire.

The owner was chomping at the bit to get the tractor back in the field and the solenoid and wiring had tamper indicating markings at the connections, for warranty purposes, I explained all that to the owner the best I could, and it was decided to keep the little solenoid in the circuit.

It cranked and fired right up and he went back to work.
