Tractor pulling questions

I am looking at a 2390 to tractor pull in a hot farm class and was wondering if anyone has put a 8 speed transmission in place of the power shift on a 90 series case. I also was wondering if any one has contacted info for a guy who went by the username IA Case that had posted pictures of his 2390 here in the past. Thanks

I'd look for a 2290 8 speed to start with if you want a 90 series but there are better options.

I am trying to find out if it is feasible to put a 30 or 70 series 8 speed in place of the power shift or if anyone has tried it.

I guess if you want to make work for your self knock your self out.

Yes using a 30 or 70 series rear 8 speed with different sheet metal is the best set up for pulling. I have a 970 rear under my 2390 fenders.

Did you have to move the fenders forward. Since the distance from the rear of the motor to the axle is about a foot different between a 970 and 2390?

No center your fenders over the rear tires then build accordingly. Everything from the bell housing forward is custom built frame wise.
