It wasn't john deeres best tractor by no means but with a new engine I gave it a little bump in price.

The JD tractors to run away from are 1010, 2010, 1020 and 2020 with diesel engines.
Allan is asking about a 2010 with a gas engine.

Diesel bad for sure. Gas engine may be ok but seems other problems as well.

The 2010 also had hydraulic issues. I'd look for something else.

JD 2010 with gasoline engine still has inferior hyd & braking system. Does this tractor have a frt crankshaft driven hyd pump?

I understand it has a new engine BUT if engine ever needs repair the sleeves mounted on a deck plate are $1552.48 in today's prices.

2010 with a cab will be very noisy to operate plus very difficult to get in/out of depending if tractor is a rowcrop or utility model with a hump for transmission operator must step over when entering/exiting cab.

I'll guess $3,000

My Dad bought a new one. Lots of features but but everything except the engine is special to them. I might consider a 1010. Same trans and hyd as a 430.

I had a 2010 for about 10 years that I used for loader work and hay making. It was well used before me and I eventually sold it at just above scrap price say $1200. I would look beyond the engine at the condition of the rest of the tractor. Regarding price again I would look at whole package because repairs and parts are so expensive any price might be unaffordable. When I look at old equipment Im only interested in something the other guy has spent a ton of money on.

Wrong, the 20 series with either engine are fine . The 1010 with the diesel and any gas or diesel 2010 is a money pit .

Some 45 combine engines used an investment cast block instead of the sleeve deck adventure .
