Tractor recomendations

Hello all,

I will be moving and have to downgrade my Kubota L3940 to a B series.

I want to buy a cheap tractor just to run my 25k PTO generator. The L3940 runs it just fine, but afraid it will be to big for a B tractor.

Recomendations for an afffordable tractor to be my generator power source.

Affordable like 4 or 5 thousand would probably be a 4000 ford or so. Anything cheaper will be something hard to start when you need the generator. In fact that is what you will run into on any older tractor that is left to sit around. Sure should not be any trouble trading an L3940 for a B. I would like to be that dealer.

What hp B series are you getting? It's a 25kw generator, but I'm guessing you're not using all of it. Depending on your load, you may have enough HP - although you would probably want to add overcurrent protection to trip before the tractor gets overloaded

everything i read before i bought the genny said the 3940 was to low pto hp. Looking at the B I like it does look like the 3 point could pick my gen up not sure of the HP it looks like a lawn mower compared to what i am used to. but i will have less than an acrea now, and snow blowing will be a must along with thebelly mower and fel

really? I have not owned an old tractor in awhile, but on my dads farm we never had a lot of issues starting our farmalls that i can remember.

I will start it regularly, and keep the battery inside, heck the whole tractor my end up inside. I am not up on pto hp rpm and such to know what tractor can sitt there and run the gen at 540 rpm

Generator requirements are based on your load, not on the size of generator. You could run a 100KW generator with 20hp tractor, if your load was minimal.
