Tractor Tires

I was wondering when b f goodrich quit making rear tractor tires ? I bought a farmall super h that has like new 12.4 38 45 degrees tires on the rear like new thinking it been a few years. Just curious.

Thanks Robertw

The only tractor tire plant that BF Goodrich had was in Miami, Oklahoma and they closed that plant in 1985 I was told when I was in Miami 4 years ago. I suppose they could have had some other ag tire company make tires for them a couple years like Kelly-Springfield/Good Year in Freeport, Il. Or Armstrong in Des Moines.

A slow moving size like 12.4X38 could have been old inventory.

Another tragedy. I thought they were a good tractor rear, they had two more bars then the competion,on a 18.4-38, but they were higher priced too ! And they were sunlight resistant and didn't crack to bad.

They still produce the tires, but, in essence they are a cheap Michelin. We have BFG, Michelin, Continental, and Firestone tires and probably like the Firestone the best. The BFG's work very well but seem to be built with a rubber that is prone to weather checking at a much faster rate than any of the other brands.

Probably have ones that came from Poland as Goodrich. If you look close you can find made in Poland on them.

But Michelin is a 1st class tire, nothing cheap about their construction, and the best steer tire on a semi truck. But i suppose they can make inferior tires for a company if they thats what the company wants!!

We put a set BFGs on the loader tractor which was in manure almost every day and the side walls rotted faster than any other tire we used.

These are 13.6 and not the best picture but do they look like this.
