Tractor Tracks Rules

IH282Puller

New User
I was just looking at the posted rules for some of the Wisconsin pulls on Tractor Tracks website. Not real impressed. Any thoughts from WI pullers?

I've pulled with them, and attended a couple of their pulls, and here's my opinion. Usually they get quite a few tractors at their events. One that I was at the track was REALLY wet and sloppy. They did the best they could with it, and we pulled. However, halfway through one class, a puller got off to the side of the track where the slop was pretty bad and he spun out in last place, he then cried to the flagman and sled operator, and they pulled him back and let him immediately re-hook. On his 2nd attempt, he bumped 2 of us down a place, he wound up with third instead of 8th. He was the only one (other than the first puller of the class) allowed to re-hook. Sure looked like playing favorites to me, as he was not the only one who got off the center of the track and spun out way too soon. I asked the promoter about it and he just shrugged at me. Their rules work well for my tractor, but after that one incident, I will think twice before hooking with them again.

I like there sled cause it puts a nice even draw on the tractor but as mighty said, it does seem if you pull with them alot you do get favoritism a bit. They know you and work to make sure you have a good hook. That is just my opinion but I prefer not to attend their pulls that are closer to there "home" location. I am involved with a club in Suring, WI and our rules are basically run what you own and hope it is enough...

I think I may have pulled against you in Suring last fall. Are you planning on attending any pulls in the area again. It would be nice to try to see how we match up again. LOL

I did pull in Suring last fall, and had a blast! I am planning on being at that one again for sure. Let me know where some other pulls you will be at and we"ll match em up! You don"t happen to pull a Farmall M diesel do you? I had the only MM diesel non turbo there.

I did have the only MD there. My wife and I talked to you and your family after we pulled. This year I think I am gonna have to find a little extra power to give you some real competition.

Yes we do remember visiting with you guys there. To find extra power out of that dirty old diesel, just turn the fuel screw till it stops, then give it another quarter turn, that's what we did lol! You guys were a fun bunch to pull with I look forward to pulling with you again. Here's a pic from the pull, I think that's your tractor on the right in the backround isn't it?

I had tried turning the fuel screw a couple years ago and the problem with them old IH diesels is I lost alot of control over the throttle on it. I found a couple other screws that I can turn that seemed to wake it up a little bit. That tractor in the background of your tractor was not mine. I have the one with the half primer and half rust coloring.

I just took the time (about an hour) to answer your question and when I went to preview it, the website timed me out and I lost it all. Crap! I'll try again later.
