Trail camera

I got a cheap Tasco brand camera at Walmart & it works OK. When it takes a flash picture at night there is a very visible bright white flash so not good for 2
legged varmints. But I got lots of pictures of deer, rabbits, raccoons, etc. For people you'd want a less visible flash.

Moultrie W - 300. From Orschellin farm store in the gun department , was on sale for 39.95 . Standard trail camera, takes 8 AA batteries to run the 12 LED flash for night shots. Works good. Orschellin farm stores may not be located in your area, they are mostly in the Midwest. You might have to pay more for this camera as many stores are raising prices in 2021.

No brand is immune to batteries that leak. If you can find one that has a connection for an external battery get one and don't put batteries inside. Cameras last much longer without battery leakage inside. Also look for one with "black flash" as people and most animals cannot see the flash and thus are not inclined to be spooked (animals) by it or try to steal the camera (people).

I have Wild Game Innovations. and Mudd.
Neither does a real good job of night
pictures by infrared flash. I suspect
other brands don't do a great deal
better. I suspect you get what you pay
for. I really dont want to put a very
expensive instrument out in the woods
only to have someone swipe it.

I have a GardePro A3 trail cam that I'm really pleased with. Some of the reviews talk about lack of battery life but I've not
experienced that problem with it. And also get great night time pictures with it set to the highest resolution.

The more expensive cameras have more electronics in them that can go bad and then you have an expensive piece of trash. If you go real cheap you will be disappointed with the quality of the pictures. I would suggest going to an outdoor equipment store and ask the clerks about the products they are selling. I was wondering what time deer were passing through my yard. At 2:38 A.M.

I use a trio of Bushnell trail cams. 4 AA batteries will last 4 months in the WINTER. Great
pictures,SD cards. Might have to send one up to the guy on the corner so he can get some worms
eye views of Walter.
