Trailer plug adapter

I have a trailer I just bought with a plug that I can’t find an adapter to fit my 7 pin female flat connector on my van. Pics of the trailer plug Hopefully loaded. Any help is greatly appreciated.

That is a highway tractor or semi style. Also newer ag tractor plug.

Can you make your own adapter. Might cost a little more but just need an end for trailer and end for vehicle then wire between them. I have an adapter for a 4 pin flat to 6 pole. Have the 6 pole on truck and one trailer for that and smaller trailer is 4 flat.

I had to make an adapter for mine. Easy to do.

you will have to cut it off and wire on a different one. I don't think you want a semi plug mounted on your van. they are a little bit big and probably have a hard time finding a spot to mount it.

As much of my farm equipment has that plug, and sometimes I pull some of it around with my pickup, I got an adaptor pigtail at my local auto parts place no problem. The plug on the pickup is also round, but I think the connectors are flat? I assume that's what you're talking about.

You can get adapters off eBay and Amazon that have a "7 round pin socket to 7 flat blade plug adapter" (search those words). Maine Trailer, Scott's Recreation, Webb's, some other trailer dealers, and Traction are near you, aren't they? They might have or could get adapters.I

It might be worth think It about changing the plug on the trailer. Sometimes the functions don't end up on the correct blades and you have to get into the trailer plug to change wire locations of that happens. It might not happen but it has before.

Normally a 7 pin round semi plug has the brake lights and turn signals on separate circuits. No idea how your trailer is wired, but that is one reason the plugs are different.

Purchased one of those adapter plugs several years ago when I towed my newly purchased round baler 290 miles home
The adapter converts the hazard/turn signal lights into standard automotive combination brake/ turn/ tail lights and the trailers/ag equipment brake lights become taillights only
May no be 100% legal since the ag equipments amber hazard lights are now brake lights but it’s better than nothing

For a couple of the reasons above I’d visit the nearest heavy duty truck and trailer parts store and get a replacement end for a 7 blade flat and be done

Yep, no need to reinvent the wheel. If he does what he said, his truck cannot power any other trailer, only that particular one.

The more I think about it the more I think I will be better cutting the plug off the trailer and buying the male plug to fit my van and wire it to the trailer wire. That will be the easiest and cheapest way. My van has the 4 way receptacle on the side of the 7 pin receptacle for my other trailers.

So nobody gets any more confused than I am getting with so many ideas, my plan is to cut semi trailer plug off my trailer and put a 7 blade plug on it. I have the 7 blade receptacle all installed on my van from when I got it. That also has the 4 pin boat trailer type receptacle built into the side of it, but I want the 7 pin flat blade on this trailer plug. I'm not a big fan of those 4 pin plugs anyway. haven't had good luck with them. Thanks to all for your ideas and suggestions. I have the 7 blade plug ordered.
