Trailer recommendation

What I have figured out is that you are a nosey, opiniated, know it all, that sticks your nose into other peoples buisiness.
Generally speaking when someone puts up a post on a public forum they are inviting the world to express any and all views.

I think Buckeye Trailer near Salem, Ohio will do custom builds to your specs.

Sure hope they got better at welding . When that place first opened they had big time issues with there welds . Back then my shop was not far from them . The org owner came to me and tried to get me to do some corrective welding in failed welds . i said NO i had more then enough work to keep me busy . I did a ton of welding for locals . I did not need his screw ups to fix. I got conned into a massive reweld for a shot line outfit out of the south when a equipment jockey got a shipment of brush hogs , rear three point blade and carries as he was going to be the local dist. and got in six semi loads and all the weld looked like he hired second graders to do the welding . I did a ton of work for Donnie and he and i ran to sales together . That shortline company paid my hourly rate to grind out every weld and reweld it to look far better . Donnie had to repaint every piece . That company got and education on Northern Welding rate .

As stated in my post on Gatormade trailers, I am looking for a new gooseneck equipment trailer. Following is a list of criteria I would like to meet.

1) 25 +/- ft bed plus dovetail.
2) Folding ramps
3) Two 7k or 8k axles
4) 16" single tires
5) Self-cleaning dovetail
6) Electric/hydraulic disc brakes
7) Two front jacks
8) Winch mount

The biggest hurdle appears to be the brakes; some manufacturers will not do the disc brakes even as an upcharge.

Who would you suggest?

Thanks
Rich
Welp First off what is the TOW vehicle ????? What is it capable of pulling??? and remember to stay out of the big boy range ya need to stay under 26000 . SOOOOOOO how much will the trailer weigh empty??? , how much do you plan on hauling??? Brakes , this is another subject . I never trusted ELECTRIC brakes and over the year of running a goose neck with electric brakes we had shell we say ISSUES . Back when i was playing equipment jockey i skirted The big truck laws with a one ton Ford F 350 and a tandem dual goose neck . My truck weighed in qt 7500 on the nose full of fuel and junk in the cab and my fat donkey behind the wheel . The trailer tipped the scales at 7500 with all the STUFF i carried . I was 15000 light weight . The truck had a 11000 GVW and my trailer was 18000 CHI CHING . legally i could haul 29000 gross but i was in BIG truck country . With a 15000 net did not leave much room to stay under over gross . Many times we were WAY over . I was tryen to squeak by with out stepping up to the new C D L . My main reason was to drop my Chauffeurs license as well i was getting tired of my one buddy always conning me into driving one of his semi's . At times he and i would go to a sale out west of us and he wanted to take one of the semis so we could load what we bought and get it home after the sale and i got stuck driving . That was my plan . Till Donnie and went to as auctioneers friends sale just across the Ohio line about 30 mile . Joe had a sale , this sale was loaded with stuff Donnie and i both went after . Donnie bought LOTS of As we called it IRON and two tractors , Me i bought three tractors and shot my wad . Sale was winding down and Don said ya want to load Iron or just tractors ??? Well it was after five out there and six back home and we had over five hours of drive time to get home to his place and i had just under and hour to the house . Lets take the tractors and get out of Dodge . I went and got the truck and he started lining up tractors in a way they would all fit on one load . It was a fight to get the semi in the small area to load at the small dock . As i hit the dock the first went on and was on the upper deck by the time i got out . I set into chaining them down . Got them loaded and went in and settled up and out the gate . We got to his yard after 2 in the morning and we went home . Monday i went down to start hauling my finds back to the shop . Dropped it and back down to get number two , got it off and back down for Number three . I was with in 8 miles from the shop when i got pulled over the Evening before the new C D L took affect and Mr Bear informed me that come midnight i could no longer haul my own tractors . Since my truck and trailer was over the 26000 GVW . Did not matter if it was for personal use , or AG use , hobby use . I needed the C D L and forced me to go take the plum STUPID test that took me less then one hour to take three of the test and pass them all only missing one question on the core the combination and air brakes . This means i have to have a med card kept up to date and since i have a C D L it even carries over to my personal stuff . YOU become a Marked man .
