Trailer winch

I’ve been thinking about putting a winch on my trailer lately. I was at Princess Auto (Canadian version of Harbour Freight) today and saw a 10,500 lb winch on sale, my heaviest tractor is a John Deere 820 weighing 9,300 lb. Would this winch be strong enough to pull my 820 onto my trailer?

I have a 12000 lbs one on mire trailer, biggest thing is how much cable you have. I have block and tackled a few items on my trailer. Other nice if you have a long remote.

I’ve been having a fair amount of breakdowns lately and just wanted a backup to get my tractors on the trailer

I think this one has a 85’ cable and wireless remote

I saw that winch today, I'd go for it.
If 10k won't pull it up, double up the line, will give to 20k pull.

Yes. Rolling weight is totally different than lifted weight. IMO.

And rolling weight up a hill (ramps) is different than across flat ground.

If that winch is anything like the harbor freight version that weight rating is only for the first wrap of wire. The more wire you roll on the spool the lower the weight rating is.
But a 10k winch and a snatch block should be plenty for that tractor especially if it has 85 feet of cable.

Surprisingly, even the cheap winches these days come with a wired and a wireless remote. Very handy if you don't have another set of hands--you can stay in your vehicle or tractor and winch yourself up while steering. My more or less recent upgrade was a Vevor 13.5K lb. single line pull. Very happy with it, ran around $300.
