tranny fluid?

I am thinking maybe 5 years.

But if you use the tractor a great deal in the winter where you get the tractor transmission hot, then as it cools off, you have condensation collect in the transmission sump.

If you have not drained off the water in the trans sump in a while, I would at least do that. Best to do that before winter as you do not want your hydraulic pump sitting down there in water during the winter.

Also if the tractor sets outside you could have leakage from the shifter boot.

Changing transmission oil is much cheaper than transmission parts.

I changed out the transmission oil in my old Ferguson this winter GL-1 oil from NAPA.

Per the info, maybe no moisture gets to transmission
through the boot rubber cover, but a busted, missing
boot cover looks bad and will let dirt in that will
wear the shifter ball and socket.

I think that rubber boot cover or whatever it is on
the spring behind the seat on my tractor is busted,
I better take a look at that tomorrow.
Thanks for the tip!
