Transmission '39' model L

I'm finding that the transmission on my great uncle's L is getting louder. With the clutch in the transmission is quiet. In nuetral with the clutch out the chattering is loud. I am hoping to find a gear bearing that is worn and replaceable. Just wondering where to start. Any advice would be helpful.

owners manual, parts manual and a John Deere shop manual, then go from there.

I found a shop manual on ebay. After I get done with the transmission I'm gonna buy a manual to tune my piano - can't be too hard after tearing into a transmission
