triangle or trilobe pto shaft

I need help. I bent the MAIN -( from tractor to machine) outer trilobe/triangle pto shaft on my shredder. The u-joint/cv joints are fine, I just need to replace about 3' of outer shaft. The shredder is a MODERN Mfg PREDATOR model (12' batwing). Ive been looking on the internet and don't understand sizes. Where can I buy the tubing? thanks, kelly

Look at it closely. One side is longer than the other two, or has a different radius on one corner. Meaning a triangle will not match the other piece. Looks like buying a new shaft is in your future if you can't locate a used one at a tractor/farm implement junk yard.

When I was a kid used to be a lot of stock of square and triangle pto tubes at the farm supply stores.

We must no longer use such raw materials, as I just don’t see it available retail any more. The hunting and fishing areas of the store are much bigger now.

Not bashing the stores, they offer what sells. The masses buy recreation, not repairs these days.

A tri-lobe shaft should be Bondioli & Pavesi (Italian). A search for that name will turn up many sources with charts of dimensions and places that sell that type. with dimensions you can identify the series of your shaft.

A dealer (an older one will likely be better) that sells implements might be able to help you. I expect somewhere in its catalogs PartsASAP and YT have tube stock. TISCO/SMA has it and YT was a TISCO dealer. You could call them. You can find the tubing on eBay and Amazon.
