Ok, let me start by saying I need someone to talk to on the EZ Guide/EZ Steer systems that can give me some reliable info. I don't know where to go, but I have had very good help on the Oliver discussion board so far so here I am with this. I have older tractors and have been using the Trimble EZ Guide 500 WAAS, EZ boom and EZ steer on my White 2-105 as a sprayer tractor. What I found is that my repeat passes are off a bit. I am thinking of getting a EZ guide 500 with RTK with SNB900 radio which should get me more precise. Not sure if this combo works well or it is what I need. I would move the 500 WAAS to my planting tractor which is a White 2270 with EZ Steer. Had the local Trimble expert out to see my sprayer set up this past summer and the kid (using the term loosely) didn't know that this older equipment even existed or how to work it. Of course he wanted me to update to everything brand new. That is part of my problem. The technology is changing but I don't feel comfortable installing the new stuff nor do I feel comfortable dishing out big $. It seems no one at the dealership is trained on the older stuff that still works. We have been using the Trimble systems on 3 tractors for the last 3 years. The dealership said it wouldn't work on my Olivers and Whites. Literature states a different story. Anyone out there that is willing to provide an assist? Still need to acquire the 500 RTK with radio if that is what I need.
