troy bilt tiller engine issue

Thanks to all who replied to my questions on timing the HH60 Tecumseh that was on the troy bilt. I have opted to replace the engine instead of messing with one that may or may not be able to get parts for. I would rather have a Briggs on it anyhow, I have never liked Tecumseh's anyhow. Thanks again!

That's what I did with my tiller. I sold the Tecumseh engine for $60.00. I bought a 10hp B&S from the smallengine warehouse. If I had known how easy it starts I wouldn't have bought electric start. Hal

HI Hal,
Great lookin tiller man. Did you do a repaint and decal job on it? I was thinking of doing that to mine if I could find the decals.

I did the repainting with PPG's Omni Single Stage
paint code 71310. I just masked the decals with newspaper and quick release tape. They were original decals. You could get them
years ago and I had a set replaced free when they
were starting to peel. Call your local Troy dealer to see if they're available. Hal

I bought a Tecumseh HM80 from smallenginewarehouse.com and it was one of the best motors I had in a long time for my troybilt always started by 2nd pull after sitting for almost a year .probley put 3-400 hours on it doing custom tilling and always drained oil every 4 hours since no filter and always working in dirt. and the tiller is still going 12 yeqars later with out ever putting a wrench to it . and power wise it will smoke a set of belts

if you go to Troy-Bilt site under "parts", you can bring up the parts manuals for "horse" then pick one based on serial number

looks like you have to order decals one at a time and some are NLA, I found at least one large hood decal (GW-2413/GW-2586) in stock

price was $48 plus shipping = ouch
