Troy-Bilt Tiller

I have a Troy-Bilt Econo Horse tiller that was made in the mid-80s and has (had) a H60 Tecumseh engine. Yesterday it threw the connecting rod and now the rod and cap are in five pieces instead of the usual two. Are there any other engines that will bolt into that frame? Reverse off the camshaft would be nice but not necessary. Thanks for any help...

Those are not too bad of prices.

I bought a 10hp B&S engine from the smallenginewarehouse in 2006 for around $400.00 with electric start. I sold the 6hp Tecumseh engine. Hal

Thanks for the info... I'm not sure what to do yet because the whole machine has seen better days, but $230 to $280 to re-power sounds pretty tempting.

Thanks again,

I just re-engined my "74"TBH. Harbor Freight 6.5hp Predator @ $99 with coupon. Just bolt on except needed a 5/16" bolt to replace the 3/8" bolt in crankshaft end. Original Throttle cable is too short so am running without that till I get around to finding a longer one.

You can't beat the HF 6.5 Honda clone engine as posted it will bolt right on of course no reverse / cam drive but finding and engine with that option is getting harder and hader, some snowblower engine had that drive and lots of times in my area snowblower engine are reasonable priced and many have 110 VAC starters.
