Truck Fender Question

https://www.minimizer.com/product/single-min-2260/#1466529167682-50fb9a08-4d8b Fender kit for a 1997 F800 single axle truck with 11R22.5 tires. I'd like to put some plastic fenders on it to protect the underneath of the bed. Am looking online at some options. Minimizer seems like a quality brand, but they are on the spendy side. Over 800 dollars for two fenders and the bracket kit to mount them before any shipping costs.

Question for those of you with experience on these. Are the minimizer that much better quality? They do come with a lifetime warranty vs a one year warranty on the Buyers Products fenders. If I do end up doing this should I definitely go with the Minimizer or will the cheaper ones work just fine.

I got mine from Robmar plastics. Was told minimizer brackets do not hold up. Just my 3 cents worth inflation. RB

How have yours held up? How long have you had them? I admit, I thought the minimizer brackets looked a bit on the flimsy side.

Mine have about 6 thousand miles on them. Outfit I use to work for install's them on their trucks. they are real happy with them. They using them since 2008. RB

Just get some of that bed liner for dump trailers and bolt to the cross members with a bracket down in front and back of each side to hold it from blowing back into the tire and flopping in the wind on the back side. Or just look for some old bent stainless half fenders from a semi tractor. Cut in half or just use them as they are. I got some old hogebilt full fenders like that that were bent in the middle for whatever reason. I cut them in half and used on my semi for half fenders nobody would know they are full fender I cut into like that. I also made my own brackes .The ones all the companies made looked to cheesy to me. I used rectangle tubing and half inch flat plate for the brackets on the back side and the stainless brackets for the front. Been on there 20 plus years now. I juat changed one of the tubes where it rusted through. Will need to loo at them again this summer before we go to fall harvest. Whatever you do go back far enough to catch the sling off the back side of the tires ,or drop it down far enough to prevent it from slinging up to the body. The reason I mentioned the bed liner is it ia flexible and will form to a fit while not cracking when hit with stones from the tire lugs. It is the stuff the line the floors of dump trailer with for the load to slide out easier. I would like to put it in our trailer to protect from the wear of grain sliding out especially beans with all the dirt. IT wears the welds off the joints faster that corn will.

Good idea. I'm going to look into that.
