This afternoon I was working on my Ford F-100. I had the hood up and I shot the air hose into one of the holes of the X bracing on the underneath side. Incredible amount of mouse nest and hickory nuts blew out. Where the hood bolts to the hinges there is about 2 inches of space between layers of sheet metal. I don't know about Chevys and Dodges, but I bet if 10 guys try this at least one or two will have this issue. Ellis

My 1984 Dodge d350 has the same problem in the hood. Acorns always falling out. I leave the hood open now about a third of the way. It seems to help.

My folks 2000 Lesabre had tons of dry dog food rolling around in that x brace

I had that on a late model Taurus at work yesterday. Acorns in between the layers of the hood, peanut shells and corn kernels on the engine, the underside of the air filter housing was at least half full of same crap. .
