Tucker Tires

Tom in Iowa

There seems to be some confusion on "Tucker Tires." It seems there is a company in Washington State, I believe, that was started in 1956. But there is a Tuckers Tire in Tennessee, that I am guessing is not related.
Some have posted that "Tucker" Tires are cheap and good. I'm not so sure. You go to e-Bay and see some for a buy it now price of 800 dollars per pair of 12.4 - 28 rears.
What is the story on "Tucker" tires?
Still confused about where to buy and how much to expect to pay for new rears (8N).
I live in Iowa City, in Eastern Iowa.
Thanks,
Tom

Well, I don' know the exact story behind them, but I am a satisfied customer! & They shipped them to my farm FREE (which is good!) I like the fact that they come already mounted on rims (loop style) with the tubes already in & all that! (Of course, they don't have any water in them..u will hafta get that done locally or do it urself if u want the extra weight!) I TRIED to get them locally, but the store that we had been trading with all my life was recently taken over by a Big City Chain & they are trying to marginalize farmers in our area! Since I was replacing them in a non-emergency basis, it was unimportant how long it took. {Not like when there is a crop in the field & time is of the essence!} One caveat..the rims didn't exactly fit the center discs, but a couple minits with a disc grinder solved that problem. Hopefully now they have that cleared up, since others have had the same issue. Tyres, like all good things, have INCREASED IN PRICE to a level that is really stupid! I dunno exactly what u guys out in Iowa pay 4 tyres, but whatever it is..it is 2 much!! hehehe! I will definitely buy my next set from them! & a real benefit to them is: I now have a couple of SPARE tyres to use when the INEVITABLE flat occurs on a weekend...would, of course involve dismounting the rims from the center discs, but since I replaced the bolts, this should be no big deal! As far as the actual tyres, yep, they are foreign made, like 99% of the crap in stores nowadays, so unless u are a radical patriot, that shouldn't be a issue! I will always try to BUY AMERICAN, but when it is NOT available at a reasnable price..Ihave nothing agianst buying imported stuffs! (except japjunkers) CC

I bought two pair of tires (American made Titans)plus tubes for a Farmall H and a Farmall C from Tucker Tire in Tennessee. Dealt with a young lady on the phone who was nothing but helpfull. The Titans proved to be quality tires. The price was the best I could find locally and from other companies who dealt with antique tractor tires. I have had nothing but satisfaction dealing Tucker Tire. You can buy them mounted, unmounted, with tubes or without tubes. I don't think you will be dissatisfied if you choose to deal with them.

Well, I just waddled out to my container & checked the Tyres. They are Mitas Brand from Turkey. If that makes a difference. Was just curious. CC

I have been buying truck and tractor tires from Tucker Tire for over 30 years.Buddy Tucker and the rest of the staff are A1 people to deal with.

Bought mine from Tucker Tire, pair of 11.2-28, 8 ply, $633 delivered. Tires tubes and rims, all assembled, just swapped my center disks and put them on. Didn't even need to put air in them, they were all ready at 12 psi.

Very happy, No hassel, no BS.

No body locally had them, would have to order, 2 weeks or so to get them, would have cost $100 more, and i'd still have to mount them.

Tucker delivered to my door within 3 days of payment.

Tom,

I got my rear tires from Big O Tire here in CO. Best I can remember, they were about $160 each which included tube and mounting. They did have to order them but that only took about 2 days. This was about 4 years ago and I have been satisfied so far.

Good luck,
Danny
