New Holland 8070

A brand new New Holland 8070 combine struggling in a crop of linseed. Linseed is a horrible crop to harvest, it wraps around the front feed auger and forms a "round bale" very quickly. The answer was simple, a can of paint stripper in the cutter bar and get the paint off everything. Job done. The next problem is when the seed is in the tank or on the trailer, step on it and it is like trying to walk on water.

A lot of flax was produced here WW2 period. Much was combined with AC 60s with draper feed and rubber covered cylinder bars. Also a flax roller was incorporated ahead of cylinder I believe.

Same plant family, we grew flax here during WW2 for cloth and paper production. That was much taller and was not cut but pulled up by the roots to get all the stem. (Not there to see it however, could not hold a camera back then).

Dad had a 140 IHC pull type combine that had flax rolls to smash the bolls to make it easier to thresh...

Not off hand, they are getting on in years now but were excellent combines. We have a number of the new New Hollands around us now.

yes I know they very hard too find nowadays would you be able too find me new Holland 8060 8070 8080 I am willing to pay an finders fee of 500 or 1000 depending on the combine
